Everyone was a winner at Tolka Park. An all too easy win for a virtually full strength Leeds, courtesy of four goals from Robbie Keane, while Dublin City made enough to bankroll much of their First Division campaign to come thanks to the healthy 7,000 who paid £20-plus to attend.
Leeds' Irish faithful didn't have long to wait for the first goal which arrived on 22 minutes. Mark Viduka put Lee Bowyer through and he set up Keane for a simple tap-in.
Then a delightful ball from Olivier Dacourt freeing Gary Kelly down the right with Bowyer arriving at the back post to finish off the cross.
Keane then scored with an overhead kick from six yards. It was 4-0 in the final minute of the half when Ian Harte scored with his head.
Keane completed his hat-trick from a 53rd minute penalty while chipping a fourth 20 minutes later.
Shelbourne's guesting Richie Foran scored Dublin City's consolation.
