Leicester moved into the semi-finals with a resounding penalty shoot-out success last night after they had come from 20 behind in ordinary time and then from 3-2 in the extra period after Ian Marshall's second goal had neutralised Chris Coleman's 93rd-minute header.
Penalty failures by Coleman, Paul Trollope and Geoff Horsfield saw the Premiership club enjoy a 3-0 triumph in the shoot-out.
When Horsfield had slipped the ball into an empty net to give Fulham a 2-0 lead with 15 minutes remaining, Paul Peschisolido having put them ahead just before the hour, a weakened Leicester side looked certain losers.
Then in the 85th minute Ian Marshall hooked the ball past Maik Taylor and in the 87th Steve Walsh drove in a fierce shot following Marshall's nod-down.
Leicester were again missing several injured or ineligible players, among them Tony Cottee, Muzzy Izzet, Darren Eadie and Steve Guppy.
Steve Hayward tended to show more imagination for Fulham in midfield while Steve Finnan quickly found opportunities to turn Leicester's defence on the right.
Leicester had to wait until the 27th minute before they created an opportunity of any significance. A lob from Stefan Oakes was nodded down to Emile Heskey by Ian Marshall but before the striker could shoot Andy Melville whipped the ball off his toes.
