Leitrim 0-6 Roscommon 0-5:Four unanswered points in the last 12 minutes gave Leitrim a deserved win against Roscommon at Elphin as the arrival of substitutes Emlyn Mulligan and Conor Beirne in the second-half sparked life into the Leitrim attack.
Two spectacular efforts from Mulligan and Gerry Hickey were followed by the equaliser by Conor Beirne. Then, with two minutes left, Beirne landed a fine free from 45 metres to give the visitors a notable scalp.
The first half was a tame affair with Roscommon hitting two points, a Conor Devaney effort and a 16th-minute free from Fintan Cregg. Leitrim’s Adrian Croal pointed in the 27th minute.
Early second-half points from Cathal Cregg (a free) and Devaney pushed Roscommon three points ahead. Cregg and Mulligan swapped frees before Leitrim turned the game on its head with their late rally.
