The result of this Connacht Minor Football League game is in some doubt following the news that Leitrim reported an alleged infringement of the rules by Galway to referee Paul Burke of Sligo.

Leitrim officials allege that Galway introduced two substitutes during the game who were not on the original list of eligible players that each team must furnish to the referee before the game starts.

The matter was reported to Burke following an exciting and entertaining game in which Leitrim came from behind to snatch a dramatic last-minute draw.

Hero of the hour for Leitrim was 17-year-old midfielder Shane Canning who powered through the Galway defence to score two superb goals within four minutes, the second coming one minute from time.
