Irish hill running champion John Lenihan will lead the national team to the World Trophy at Ile de Reunion in the Indian Ocean next month.
Lenihan took the Irish title at Brandon Mountain, Co. Kerry on Sunday after finishing in 63 minutes 40 seconds, two minutes ahead of Gerry McGrath. Colm Rothery was third despite stopping for a change of shoes.
Margaret Synott was the surprise winner of the women's race, ahead of defending champion Una Creagh. Gary Thornton and Madeline Dorney took the junior titles.
