Lord Lloyd-Webber hit the right note with his filly Lighthouse, who shone on her debut for Henry Cecil and Willie Ryan on rain-softened ground in the Salamanca Maiden Stakes at Windsor yesterday. The three-year-old daughter of Warning, who cost 220,000 guineas as a yearling, had been entered in the Sagitta 1000 Guineas but has had her problems delaying her first appearance on a racecourse. However, she coped well as Ryan sent her to the front inside the final furlong to score by two and a half lengths from long-time leader Tarawan.
