Louth and Wicklow will contest the Leinster final of All-Ireland Intercounty Championship at Arklow Golf Club next March. Louth, who won four titles in a row in the 1980s, beat a strong Dublin side in the first round and followed with a 4/1 win over Offaly in the quarter-finals and a thrilling 3/2 win over Westmeath in the semi-final, where Peter Rogers won the deciding match on the 21st against Michael Power. It all looked over for Louth when Rogers was bunkered at the 20th but the Dundalk player holed from 30 feet to take the match up the 21st. And after Power lipped out, Rogers rolled in a 30-footer for victory. Wicklow's path to the final saw them whitewash Wexford before claiming a 4 1/2/ 1 1/2 win over Kildare in their semi-final.
