Dublin midfielder Darren Magee has arrived home from a seven-month sojourn in Australia, but intends to leave the country again next week to play football in America for the summer.
Magee is to join the Wolftones GAA club in Boston, but he refused to completely rule out a return to the Dublin panel ahead of the Leinster championship final against Laois on July 17th.
However, there has been no contact from Paul Caffrey or any of the Dublin management since returning home.
"I wouldn't expect any either," said Magee. "I am kind of fit, but nothing like the lads who have been training all year. It would be somewhat unfair on the other Dublin players if I was to come back in after being away for seven months, but you never know.
"I am keeping my options open. I leave either Tuesday or Wednesday of next week, but a phone call could change all that. I certainly wouldn't turn my back on a Leinster medal if I got the opportunity to earn one."
Having transferred back to Kilmacud Crokes from Sydney club Michael Cusacks, where he played alongside Laois exile Colm Parkinson, Magee togged out for Crokes in a challenge match against Portarlington last Sunday.
"The plan is to go to Boston, but I am available for the club against Parnells this weekend, if that goes ahead."
That second-round fixture of the Dublin championship, scheduled for Sunday in Parnell Park, looks set to be postponed due to an objection from St Brigid's regarding the eligibility of Crokes forward Mark Vaughan.
The dispute resolution authority freed Vaughan to play in Crokes' opening round victory over St Brigid's, despite the one-match ban he received after being sent off in last year's Leinster club championship defeat to Portlaoise.
The Leinster Council recently ruled the Dublin County Board must address the St Brigid's objection and a meeting did take place late last night.
Meanwhile, the condition of Dublin corner back Stephen O'Shaughnessy will be assessed today after he undergoes a scan on the shoulder he dislocated last Sunday against Wexford.
The young defender looks highly unlikely to make the Leinster final, especially considering this is not the first time he has sustained a serious shoulder injury.
Stephen Cluxton is the other Dublin concern, but he is expected to recover from an ankle strain. The panel return to their clubs this week before reconvening on June 28th.
