Cricket Preview: As North County, Railway Union and Rush have been making most of the headlines this season, Malahide have been quietly going about their business without attracting much attention.

But they will be hoping that is about to change today in the semi-final of the Antalis Senior Cup as they take on North County, arguably the best club side in the country. The last time the Villagers won this competition was in the early 1970s, and they have lost three finals since (in 1982, 1994 and 1998).

They are also in the final of the Dublin Grass Machinery 45 Overs League next Sunday.

The other semi-final, between The Hills and Rush at Milverton, has been postponed because of the staging of the Skerries 100 motorcycle race. It will be held next Sunday instead.
