Two early tries from captain Colm Manning made this match safe for Castleknock at Stradbrook against a very young St Gerard's side.
Manning struck for his first try in the 12th minute when he crashed over beside the posts to give Castleknock's outstanding number eight Simon Crawford an easy conversion.
Manning scored his second try two minutes later when a quick movement from second-phase ball left him free for the corner.
St Gerard's fought back bravely with second row Dermot Byrne outstanding in the lineouts and prop Ben Silverlock creating huge difficulties up front. Their best scoring chance came from a 45metre penalty by Shane Canavan, but it landed inches short.
Four minutes into the second half Crawford landed an easy penalty and full back Brian Fogarty capped Castleknock's win with a try which Crawford converted.
