RACING: The rumour machine may have gone into overdrive about Kieren Fallon becoming the next stable jockey at Ballydoyle but that wasn't reflected yesterday in betting on who will land the job.

Although some firms have suspended betting on who will succeed Jamie Spencer, Cashmans make Fallon favourite - though with no significant market moves on the back of reports that Fallon has travelled to Barbados to meet John Magnier and Michael Tabor.

"We have had inquiries on the back of the story about Fallon going to Barbados but the money seems to be following rumours. We have had rumours about John Murtagh and Darryll Holland and they have been backed. Now it's the same with Fallon but not for big money," said the Cashmans spokesman Joseph Burke.

Earlier this month Tabor suggested that Ballydoyle may not appoint a stable jockey and that Aidan O'Brien-trained horses would be ridden by the best available on a given day. But if a move is to be made it will be just in time for the start of the Irish flat season which begins in just over three weeks' time.
