Women's Gaelic Football All Star awards: Not surprisingly, Mayo led the way with four awards when the O'Neills/TG4 Women's Football All-Stars for 2003 were announced at the Citywest hotel, Dublin, on Saturday night.

It was the first ever ceremony to pay tribute to the stars of the women's game.

One notable absentee from the list was Cora Staunton as she was sent off while playing in the All-Ireland club semi-final for her club Carnacon against Dunamore of Cork last week so she was ineligible under the women's GAA rules.

The county-by-county breakdown was Dublin three, Kerry three, Waterford two and Galway two.
