Gary McAllister will know within the next 24 hours the extent of the knee injury suffered when in action for Coventry against Leicester at Highfield Road on Saturday. Scotland captain McAllister is to have a scan in a Coventry hospital today to determine whether the initial fears of him sustaining ligament damage will be realised. McAllister initially needed treatment after a challenge from Leicester midfielder Neil Lennon but then broke down after continuing for a short spell and he was stretchered off in the 37th minute.
He looked in a lot of pain and Scotland coach Craig Brown will be anxiously awaiting the result of the scan as he casts an eye towards next summer's World Cup finals.
