Hopes OF some kind of a rapprochement between Wayne McCullough and his promoter Mat Tinley were revived at the weekend, when McCullough told an Ulster Television audience that he expected to meet Tinley for talks during the week in an attempt to settle their differences.
This fits in with what Tinley told The Irish Times last week when he said that he wanted to meet McCullough "face-to-face" with a view to working out a programme which would get McCullough back into the ring for the first time in over a year with the intention of setting up a world title fight between McCullough and Naseem Hamed for the world featherweight title.
Neither were available for comment yesterday, but Tinley's statement last week that he wanted to talk to McCullough would seem to indicate that an agreement might yet be hammered out.
