Football: Tyrone's hopes of retaining the All-Ireland title have suffered a severe blow after All Star centre forward and play-maker Brian McGuigan broke a leg during a league game yesterday.
McGuigan was in action for Ardboe against Dromore when he suffered the injury in an accidental collision with an opposing player.
The game was abandoned after an ambulance was called to take the 25-year-old to hospital.
The sides were level at seven points each, with just five minutes to play.
McGuigan was a key figure in both of Tyrone's All-Ireland wins, in 2003 and last year.
They are due to begin the defence of their All-Ireland title in four weeks' time when they meet Derry in the Ulster championship at Omagh.
Manager Mickey Harte faces a huge task in reshaping his team, now that he has lost the man who has made them tick and would arguably have been their key figure this summer.
