UNDER-18 SCHOOLS INTERPROS: Leinster 11 Munster 3: LEINSTER MADE an unconvincing start, sealed by outhalf Conor McKeon's converted penalty, to the defence of their title at Donnybrook yesterday.
In an early move Leinster scrumhalf Nick McCarthy slipped the ball to hooker Dylan Donnellan, who powered to the line from close in, assisted by Dan Leavy.
Munster did damage at the ruck, slowly building their game for outhalf Gearóid Lyons to land a penalty in the 18th minute to stay close, at 5-3, at the interval.
Outhalf Conor McKeon turned down a shot at goal out on the right only to accept another from straight in front to stretch Leinster’s lead to five. Leinster’s replacement half back Ruairí O’Farrell sparked a superb attack which looked like ending in a try until centre Rory O’Loughlin was dispossessed before McKeon made the game safe.
Scorers– Leinster 11 (D Donnellan try; C McKeon 2 pens); Munster 3 (G Lyons pen).
