Media Star and Decorated Hero, two graduates from John Gosden's Stanley House school of improvement, go to Goodwood today with excellent chances of scoring a double for the Newmarket handler under polished French pilot Olivier Peslier.

Improved out of all recognition since being fitted with blinkers earlier this term, Media Star ran the race of his life last time out in the Tote Ebor Handicap at York when battling into second, beaten only a neck, by Far Ahead.

Having been headed early in the straight, it looked briefly as if John Gosden's habitual front-runner would soon fade out of contention but he showed great courage to rally and get back in front before finally having to give way to the winner's final surge for the line.

Goodwood's undulations suited his dominating tactics when scoring an impressive win success over Puce for Peslier in July. And returning there today with the Frenchman back in the saddle - Frankie Dettori was on board at York - Media Star looks a great bet to regain his winning ways in NFU Rated Stakes.

The brace can be completed by Decorated Hero in the Charlton Hunt Supreme Stakes. Having landed the Tote Festival Handicap as part of Dettori's "Magnificent Seven" at this time last year, he has since progressed rapidly up the ranks and landed the Group Three Hungerford Stakes earlier this term, handing out a cosy one-length beating to Bin Rosie.

This seven-furlongs is arguably his best trip and if kept in the front rank early on, should be able to use his turn of foot to assert close home.

Lorcan Wyer, who had his licence suspended because of thyroid problems, will resume race-riding at Market Rasen on Saturday, he revealed yesterday.

The jumps jockey suffered weight loss and a shortage of energy and has been out of action since August 12th, when he rode a finish a circuit too soon at Southwell.

Richard Dunwoody and Michael Hourigan will be signing photographs of Dorans Pride's Kerry National win in front of the weigh room at Listowel today from an hour before the first race in aid of the Broderick appeal fund.
