Mediate makes use of local knowledge

Local boy Rocco Mediate took advantage of his course knowledge to grab a share of the second round clubhouse lead at the $3

Local boy Rocco Mediate took advantage of his course knowledge to grab a share of the second round clubhouse lead at the $3.3 million Pennsylvania Classic yesterday.

Mediate shot a four-under-par 68 on a day when only half the field completed the second round as a result of a rain delay.

When play was halted in fading light, Mediate was tied for the lead on 137 with fellow American Steve Flesh who had completed ten holes.

Australian Steve Elkington ( 10 holes) and Zimbabwean Nick Price ( seven holes) were equal third at six under.
