Gaelic Games/Connacht League final/NUIG - 1; GMIT 1-14: Galway star Michael Meehan kicked a last-minute 45 to ensure these Galway rivals must meet again in the final following this exciting encounter at Pearse Stadium.

It seemed that Nicky Joyce had snatched it for GMIT when he landed his eighth free, but Meehan kept his nerve to secure a replay.

GMIT led 1-4 to 0-5 at the interval in normal time, with a goal from a penalty by Ger Heneghan putting them ahead after 20 minutes.

NUIG substitute Eoin Curtin hit two superb points after the break to level the match, but Joyce kept GMIT in touch before two late points from John Boylan edged NUIG in front.

But Joyce levelled in injury-time with a free to send the game into extra-time.

Meehan took over with three excellent points, but GMIT again hit back to level by the interval with two points from Aidan Kilcoyne and one from Brian Darby.
