Although qualifying for another Leinster Colleges senior football final at St Loman's, Mullingar yesterday, St Mel's of Longford will need to improve if they are to add to their 28 titles. The Mel's full forward trio of David Barden, Kevin Smith and William Murray spearheaded the victory, which was won with the aid of the wind in the second half - the sides were level, 0-3 to 1-0 at the interval.
St Michael's, Trim did not score a point until the last attack, although a couple of opportunist goals kept them in contention.
