PROFOUND BEAUTY could bid to forward her Melbourne Cup claims in Friday's Ladbrokes Give Thanks Stakes at Cork.
Trainer Dermot Weld has pencilled in the Group Three contest over 12 furlongs following convincing wins at the Curragh and Fairyhouse on her last two outings. "She's in a Group race in Cork on Friday, and she's entered for the Melbourne Cup, which we'll give serious thought.
"She will be entered in the Irish St Leger - we still haven't finally decided what her exact programme is.
"The Group race on Friday is a possibility but the Melbourne Cup is a serious possibility."
Profound Beauty could be joined by stablemate and Irish Oaks fourth Chinese White at Cork.
Weld is also hoping to strike Group One gold with Casual Conquest following his third in the Derby at Epsom and second place in the Irish equivalent.
"We are satisfied with his progress and he's run a couple of really good races. I think the Irish Champion Stakes is the plan for him," said Weld.
"He's a horse that we look forward to as a four-year-old even more than this year, but he's done us proud."
