John Anthony Moran can expect a call-up from Limerick hurling manager Eamon Cregan for next Sunday's Oireachtas clash against Wexford. Moran, a former minor and under-21 star at county level, spent the last three years with Na Phairsaigh in Cork but has now transferred back to his native Bruff. He was invited by Cregan to attend recent training sessions.
Out of contention for places are the Patrickswell quintet of Pa and Ciaran Carey, Anthony Carmody, Gary Kirby and Barry Foley, all of whom will be required for the Munster club championship final one week later.
In an unusual development the management of the Limerick under16 hurling team brought in a sports psychologist to address their panel last week in advance of their meeting with Tipperary in the Nenagh Co-Op tournament final. Tipperary won the game on Saturday by 1-20 to 1-12.
