Moyle Park eased past Sandford Park in this oft-postponed Junior Cup Section A second round tie at Belfield, thanks to a four-try blitz by their star, number eight Philip Furlong.

Furlong's sheer height and weight meant that he invariably retained possession at the line-outs and struck fear into the hearts of the Sandford players with his surging runs.

Sandford showed great heart in taking the game to their opponents and spent much of the first half camped close to the Moyle Park line. However, the dam burst after halftime, when second row Stephen Alexander burst through to make it 10-0.
