Holders Tralee CBS defeated St Flannan's, Ennis by 0-13 to 1-5 at Glin yesterday to advance to a Corn Uí Mhuirí semi-final against Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne.
Two pointed David Smith frees gave St Flannan's a bright start but two points from Edmund Walsh had Tralee level by the 16th minute. Three pointed frees from Barry John Keane and a superb Walsh point put Tralee 0-6 to 0-3 up at the interval.
Three further scores eased Tralee six clear but in the 38th minute Seán Crotty's goal threw St Flannan's a lifeline at 0-9 to 1-3.
However, Tralee took over again and points from Colm O'Mahony and Keane (two frees) saw them reassert control over the proceedings.
Pobalscoil Corca Dhuibhne proved too strong for St Fachtna's Skibbereen, 1-9 to 1-6, in Killarney.
Five points at the end of the opening half set Corca Dhuibhne on their way as Joe Sheehy and Séamus Mac Gearailt found their scoring boots. Liam Flannery's goal early in the second half extended their lead to 1-7 to 0-3 before Alan Holland's late goal gave Fachtna's some hope.
