The Borders v Munster: Having made five changes from the side that lost to Biarritz in the Heineken European Cup last Sunday, Munster coach Alan Gaffney is giving several players the chance to make a name.
The retention of five forwards who played in the Six Nations (Marcus Horan, John Hayes, Paul O'Connell, Anthony Foley and Donncha O'Callaghan) suggests Gaffney is not about to concede the match, but he gives a start to three relative newcomers - Paul Devlin, Frank Murphy and Stephen Keogh.
Munster have already secured a home draw in the Celtic Cup quarter-finals, while Borders languish at the bottom of the table. But even with the likes of Peter Stringer, Frankie Sheahan, Jim Williams and Mike Mullins on the bench Munster are not light.
UCC captain Murphy partners Jason Holland at halfback, while Devlin, a second-half replacement last week for Mullins, retains his place in the backline. Up front Jerry Flannery comes into the frontrow for Sheahan and Keogh is number six.
The Borders, for the second successive season, are in the doldrums while Munster have already secured what they need from the competition. And so the prize here is pride.
Munster should win with something to spare given they have won all three previous matches against the Borders, including a 45-8 margin at Musgrave Park in November.
