Bray Wanderers 2 UCD 1ANDY MYLER came off the bench to score his first goal for Bray Wanderers to keep his former club, UCD, in the relegation zone at the Carlisle Grounds last night.
Myler has played just a bit part in Bray's season since joining them from Shamrock Rovers in the close season.
The 32-year-old showed he'd lost none of his poaching instincts, however, to complete Bray's comeback with 10 minutes remaining in the game.
Right back Derek Pender did well to beat a defender to whip over a cross and Myler outfoxed College goalkeeper Matt Gregg to beat him to the ball and head to the net.
Darren Meenan's used his bright red boots to good effect to score a cracking first goal for UCD to give them the lead.
That came two minutes into the second half and thankfully brought the game to life after a dreadful first 45 minutes.
Meenan controlled Alan Mahon's pass to flick the ball over Derek Foran and beat goalkeeper Alan Gough with a clever dipping volley from almost 25 yards.
That sparked Bray into life and they should have been level within a minute.
Aidan O'Keeffe's low cross found Ger Rowe in space, but the striker's hurried first-time shot was ballooned way over the bar.
But Eddie Gormley's side did level on 68 minutes from a well-worked move.
Mark Duggan worked a short-corner with captain Alan Cawley to send a good cross to the back post where Paddy Kavanagh arrived to head home with the help of a deflection off a UCD defender.
Bray should have taken the lead sooner with their young substitute Jake Kelly shooting over the bar from Gary Cronin's cross before shooting wide when Myler's flick put him in on goal.
Teenager Kelly had another great chance in the dying seconds of the game to add to Bray's winning margin, racing through on the students' goal before bringing a good diving save from goalkeeper Gregg.
