National Hurling League

Division 1A

Division 1A

Galway v Meath, (Ballinasloe 3.30) - Fired by another outstanding David Tierney performance, Galway showed that they had weathered the break well. Meath maintained their gutsy presence in the top flight by staying with Offaly until the final quarter. They'll do well to repeat that tomorrow.

Antrim v Dublin, (Casement Park 3.30) - Dublin will curse the poor luck of having to travel for this match. Antrim represent Dublin's last chance of avoiding relegation but given the northerners' considerably better home record, even this minimal attainment could be too much for Kevin Fennelly's team.

Limerick v Clare, (Gaelic Grounds 3.30) - This should decide who accompanies Galway into the play-offs. Clare pulverised Dublin and looked hungry last week while Limerick found Galway too hot. They'll need to be less wasteful if they're to succeed. Very much in transition, Clare have a more earnest look about them in the League and may take the points here.

Offaly - bye.

Division 1B

Wexford v Derry, (Gorey, 1.45) - Even allowing for Cork's injury woes last week, Wexford's performance was hugely encouraging for Tony Dempsey. A bunch of teenagers lent enthusiasm and verve to the attack while the defence was alert and mean. Derry had their own cause to celebrate last week with a first win in this campaign. That will have to do them for now.

Kilkenny v Tipperary, (Nowlan Park 3.30) - Already this has a compelling look. Tipperary have been motoring and after last week's comprehensive win over Waterford, they have presumably shaken the rust from their system. Kilkenny were awesome until just before the break when they lost in Cork. With the Graigue-Ballycallan hurlers preparing for an All-Ireland final, there'll be more chances for the talented reserves but Tipp get the nod.

Cork v Waterford, (Pairc Ui Chaoimh 3.30) - Waterford's season swung back to dire in Nenagh and Sean Cullinane's injury made it a thoroughly awful trip. Cork suffered something similar against the Wexford team which had been walloped by Waterford. Although this establishes an encouraging formline for the visitors, they don't appear to be playing well enough to win this, particularly given the jolt Cork got last week.

Laois - bye.

Division Two

Roscommon v Wicklow, (Hyde Park 3.30) - After forfeiting certain points in Armagh, Wicklow should be back in business against dismal Roscommon.

Westmeath v Kildare, (Mullingar, 1.45) - Test for Kildare, but the home side look the better bet.

Down v Kerry, (Ballycran 2.00) - Another big win under their belt, Kerry's full-steam progress to winning this division should survive the tricky trip to the peninsula.

Division Three

Sligo v Longford, (Tubbercurry 3.30)- Top three clash with an away win on the cards.

Tyrone v Fermanagh, (Omagh 3.30) - Close but another home defeat.

Cavan v Mayo, (Breffni Park 3.30) - Cavan's big chance to put up points - which they should take.

Donegal v Leitrim, (Ballybofey 3.30) - Donegal's marauding run will hardly be halted here.

Monaghan - bye
