Brian Kerr has called two National League players into his youth squad for the friendly international against England at Tolka.

Alan Carey of Cork City and Dundalk's David Ward were drafted in due to injuries to Sheffield Wednesday's David Billington and Stoke City's Clive Clarke.

Kerr is anticipating a tough match against Howard Wilkinson's "particularly as they failed to win the European title after beating us in Cyprus".

Meanwhile, UEFA has announced the appointment of FAI Chief Executive Bernard O'Byrne as Venue Director for the UEFA Champions League matches to be played by Manchester United at Old Tradfford this season. Venue Directors act as UEFA representatives and are responsible for all aspects of European fixtures allotted to particular grounds.
