Munster Club FC First round/ Nemo Rangers1-14 Moyle Rovers 2-6: Nemo Rangers didn't have matters all their own in progressing to the Munster club football semi-final at Páirc Uí Chaoimh yesterday.
They enjoyed wind advantage in the first half against Moyle Rovers and established a 1-7 to 1-2 interval lead. The Cork champions had led by 0-5 to 0-1 in the 16th minute when Martin Cronin put through his own goal after a scramble in the goalmouth.
Nemo hit back within three minutes, though, as Ricky Kenny and Dylan Mehigan combined for Kerrigan to score with a low shot for a 1-5 to 1-1 lead.
Moyle Rovers pounced for their second goal in the 42nd minute to reduce the margin to two points, 1-9 to 2-4. The goal came after Declan Browne's free from the left was broken down by Paul Johnson for Pádraic Kelly to crash home from close range.
Nemo claimed the next two points, courtesy of frees from James Masters and Paul Kerrigan, only for Moyle to come again.
Substitute Paul Shanahan and Browne, from a free, made it a two-point game once more with four minutes of regulation time remaining.
The Cork champions finished strongly, however, and three unanswered points from substitute Ciarán O'Shea, Kerrigan and Masters smoothed their progress.
