Neptune basketball team will line out against St Paul's, Killarney, tonight with two new foreign players after signing Cuban Augusto Duquesne as a replacement for Harold Joiner, who has been released. The 6ft 9in Dequesne will partner 6ft 8in newcomer, Chris Harper, in a revamped Neptune squad. Both men look to be high quality acquisitions and both possess impressive playing credentials.
Dequesne defected to Canada two years ago, where he was college player of the year as well as making All Star last March. Harper, who played in the very competitive Swedish League last year, performed solidly in training in Cork during the week after flying in from London on Wednesday.
The dramatic changes to the reigning league champions line-up have been made following a run of five consecutive defeats - their worst start ever to a league campaign.
