That St Andrew's were unable to sustain their admirable first-half display was undoubtedly a contributory factor to Newbridge's runaway victory.
The St Andrew's pack stood up well in the opening 35 minutes but had the wind knocked out them five minutes before the break when Darragh O'Shea landed an astounding 40-yard drop goal from just inside the right-hand touchline.
This audacious score from last year's Junior Cup captain was perhaps a turning point in this game and the out-half-turned-fullback grew in confidence as the game wore on, finding touch with some truly mammoth kicks.
The second half was a different story with the Newbridge pack methodically grinding out the scores for out-half Paul Noble who kicked 15 points in all.
And towards the end, Newbridge scored their only try with centre Ryan Cunningham intercepting to score under the posts before adding the conversion.
