Tomorrow's big Newbury meeting is dependent upon the course passing an inspection this morning.
However, with the state of the hurdle course causing most concern, contingency plans are in place to stage a chase-only card, should the hurdle track remain unraceable.
The three chase contests from today's planned meeting, which was abandoned due to waterlogging, would be switched to tomorrow to make a six-race card.
Should the hurdle races be abandoned, plans for the £100,000 Tote Gold Trophy remain fluid, with the sponsors happy for the race to be transferred to another course at a later date should conditions dictate.
Clerk of the course Mark Kershaw was keen to emphasise that the plan was "nothing more than a fall-back option". Hopes remain high that the whole card will beat the weather.
Tomorrow's meeting at Ayr has also come under threat from the recent spell of cold weather. And officials will hold an inspection this afternoon to assess prospects for the meeting.
The jumps meeting at Catterick is under threat from both frost and waterlogging.
Catterick is due to stage its biggest meeting of the season tomorrow, when the Grand National Trial is the feature event.
Haydock have not yet announced an inspection but will continue to monitor the weather.
The day's action is completed by all-weather meeting at Lingfield.
