A woman scorer was described as "needing a lie down" yesterday after Ryder Cup Swede Pierre Fulke played his final round of the Irish Open at Portmarnock in a lightning 115 minutes.
First man off and playing on his own, Fulke completed his day's work before the pair behind had even reached the 11th hole. And he was on a plane home before they came off the 18th green.
Fast golf did not produce good golf, however. Fulke, last by four shots after a third round 81, finished with an 80 for a 17-over-par total of 305. He had double bogeys at the 12th and 13th and ended with three successive bogeys.
