Dermot Weld will not appeal the decision of the Curragh stewards who allowed Memorise keep Sunday's Curragh Cup despite his jockey Kieren Fallon receiving a three day ban for careless riding.

Weld's Stage Affair finished a two-length runner-up after jockey Pat Shanahan had to snatch up at a vital stage.

"I thought it was a harsh decision. Stage Affair had not been asked for everything when the incident happened and we feel he would have won with a clear run. But we won't be appealing," Weld said.

Plans are on hold for Desert Fox after the colt's excellent effort when a 40 to 1 third in the Budweiser Irish Derby.

"He's obviously an improving colt and has come out of the race well but I'm not sure yet where he'll run next. Saratoga Springs and Risk Material are OK after the race too," Aidan O'Brien said yesterday.
