Danny Nolan last week won the All-Ireland Artisans' Championship at his home club, Greystones, for a record sixth time. Danny, an artisan attached to Greystones, had two rounds of 67 to win the trophy for the third year in a row by a staggering eight shots He wasn't the only prizewinner from the host club. Greystones provided the first three and the winner of the gross. Sean Lynch, who plays off six, was second, with Johnny Green (9) third. Kevin Green won the gross.

Nolan, 55, a native of Greystones, first won the championship, which was inaugurated in 1945, at the Grange in 1971. His other triumphs were in Howth (1978), Royal Dublin ('88), Woodbrook in 1996 and the following year in Greystones. He has been capped for Ireland against England 25 times in the annual international artisans match.

Other three-time winners of this championship include Tom Craddock, Tommy Fitzpatrick (Bray), Willie Mitchell (Wicklow) and John Groomes (Greystones).
