Clifden CS 3 Colaiste Iognaid 32: A tally of 12 points by outhalf Cormac O'Beirne helped Coláiste Iognaid to success in a Connacht Schools' Senior Cup quarter-final played at the Monastery Field, Clifden, yesterday.
O'Beirne scored a try on 90 seconds, which he converted. The city students had two more tries by the 13th minute, through second row Kieran Warden and left wing Chris Connolly.
Clifden CS had their only score, a penalty, in the 16th minute from centre Walter Gibbons, but Coláiste Iognaid had a first-half injury-time penalty through O'Beirne to leave the interval score at 3-20.
The victors had two more tries after half-time, from right wing Cian Moyles and centre Brian Connolly. O'Beirne converted the first of these.
