Aidan O'Brien once again dominated proceedings at the Irish Thoroughbred Breeders Association-sponsored meeting yesterday evening when completing a near 22 to 1 treble. The O'Brien-trained pair Festival Song and Marigot Bay outpaced their rivals in the opening 2-Y-O maiden, with the latter racing alone on the stands side getting on top in the closing stages under Christy Roche to score by a length and a half.
My-Lorraine followed up in the sprint handicap under a determined drive from Seamus Heffernan. The Mac's Imp filly, a half-sister to the stable's Group-winning sprinter Catch The Blues, led in the final 100 yards for a three quarters of a length win from Magic Annemarie.
Theano completed the Ballydoyle treble, and a double for clear championship leader Roche, when readily landing the featured Andersen Race. The former six times champion moved the 4-YO, travelling ominously well, alongside Alami early in the straight, and she quickened nicely from the distance to score by five and a half lengths.
O'Brien said: "Hopefully she can win a Group race before the end of the season, and she may go for the Matron Stakes at the Curragh next month."
Eddie Ahern extended his lead in the apprentice title race when Last Dream made most to take the Derrinstown Stud Apprentice Maiden.
