Different venues, same result for Headfort's Patricia K O'Reilly last week. The eight handicapper began her winning streak on Tuesday last in her home club where she took the top prize in her class in Mary Caffrey's Lady President's Prize. Her score of 71 was enough for first prize in class one, although it wasn't quite good enough to secure the overall prize. That honour went to another Patricia, Patricia Black (15), whose better back nine was just enough to pip Mary Bowler (40) after both had tied on 70.
However, O'Reilly's good form was to continue the very next day as she claimed her second win in as many days. This time she teamed up with her Headfort clubmate Adela Smyth (20) to win the overall prize in Black Bush's Open Scotch Foursomes competition. Their total of 42 points gave them a four-point winning margin over the home club's Monica O'Hagan (18) and Mary Rochford (24).
