MEATH SFC FINAL Skryne 0-21 Seneschalstown 4-8: SENESCHALSTOWN'S attempt to win a third Meath SFC title in four years fell short at Páirc Tailteann as Skryne recovered from a five-point interval deficit to snatch a first title since 2004.
The winning point was driven over by Paddy O’Rourke from a 45 with the last kick of the game.
Such an outcome looked highly unlikely during the first half when the Seneschalstown attack gave the challengers’ attack a torrid time to hold a 3-5 to 0-9 lead at the break.
Skryne continued to pick off well-taken points in the second half and gained the lead for the first time since the early stages when Kevin Mulvaney pointed on 46 minutes.
When Bryan Clarke netted Seneschalstown’s fourth goal on the hour mark, the odds were on a draw but O’Rourke held his nerve to slot over the winning score.
