LEINSTER SENIOR LEAGUE CUP FINAL/Old Belvedere 16 Blackrock College 3:OLD BELVEDERE got what they were looking for by clipping Blackrock's wings at Donnybrook last night in a battle of the two clubs tied together at the bottom of Division One A of the All-Ireland League.

Employing the fast ball well to feed an alert backline, Old Belvedere fullback Dan Riordan kicked two penalties either side of number eight Jack Conan’s powerful finish on the left for an 11-0 lead in the 23rd minute.

Blackrock fullback Andrew Letham kept it interesting from 30 metres only for Riordan to outstrip the Blackrock defence going right for a 16-3 gap at the interval.

The game descended into a dogfight from there with neither side able to convert a single chance as the final petered out.
