Leinster Senior League Division one side Parkvilla provided one of the shocks of the first round of the FAI Cup when they beat Major Division side Whitehall Rangers 2-1 at Paddy Mahoney Park yesterday.
Parkvilla went behind after 74 minutes when Derek O'Connor scored after Parkvilla failed to clear Anto Brennan's corner.
But Parkvilla hit back through captain Ken Ratty. Mark Brady scored the winner eight minutes from time.
There were no real problems for Intermediate Cup holders Rockmount who beat Fanad United 1-0. Thomas Long scored the only goal 13 minutes from time.
