Dublin SFC/Parnells 1-10 Naomh Olaf 1-5: Parnells strolled to a facile five-point victory over Naomh Olaf in the first round of the Dublin SFC at St Peregrine's grounds on Blakestown Road yesterday evening.

In a rather drab opening period it took nine minutes for the first score when Gary Collins knocked over the first of his four points.

Three minutes from the break Cormac Sugrue blasted a fine goal off the underside of the bar which helped Parnells to a half-time lead of 1-6 to 0-3.

Olaf's were more competitive in the second-half, but by the time they got their goal two minutes from the end, the game was long over.

St Mary's 0-18 Fingallians 2-4

St Mary's scored an easy eight points win over their northside opponents at O'Toole Park last night although goals in each half from Fingallians made life uncomfortable for them at times.

The Saggart side led 0-7 to 0-1 when Liam Prout fired in a goal for Fingallians on 19 minutes. However, St Mary's finished the half strongly to lead 0-12 to 1-3.

An Adrian Darcy free and a Peter Murtagh goal gave Fingallian hope early in the second half but St Mary's pull away again to win comfortably.
