SCHOOLS RUGBY Munster Senior Cup semi-final: PBC Cork 19 Crescent Comp 5 PBC ensured the Munster final will be an all-Cork affair as they proved too strong up front for Crescent Comprehensive at Thomond Park yesterday and now meet fierce rivals CBC in the decider.
Pres had to come from behind to clinch their place after Crescent created the opening for left wing David Murphy to score in the corner in the 12th minute following a timely pass by centre Paddy Carroll.
The Cork school levelled eight minutes before the interval. A close range lineout followed by a concerted drive led to second-row Robert Allen making it 5-5 at the interval.
Pres took just five minutes to jump in front on the resumption. Once again an impressive maul from another lineout set up the opportunity for scrumhalf and captain Sam Cronin to dive over.
Substitute Jeff Power, who came on at half-time, kicked the conversion and while Pres had to wait until injury time to ensure victory they were fully deserving of their success.
A penetrating run by centre Tim Kenneally started the move which eventually saw prop Neil Bourke powering over for the third try which Power converted.
