The crisis in Carlow GAA appears to be at an end. The final shots may have been fired at Saturday's county convention in Tullow which lasted for five hours.
County Chairman Jim English made it clear that the Carlow Supporters Club had been disbanded by the county board because the club failed to honour an agreement with the board. He called for a new beginning in Carlow GAA and this was echoed by County Secretary Tommy O'Neill.
Leinster Council chairman Jim Berry, from Wexford, fully supported the stance of the county board. In his opinion the clubs and the board officers had come through "with flying colours".
There were some dissenting voices among the delegates, but the general consensus was that the county should now move on. Nine of the 12 board officers were returned without a contest, including the chairman and secretary.
