Farrell (143), record 10 times Hewison winner Dermot Carnegie (133), Sam Johnston (116), Chris Grimes (108), Liam Cashman (107), Paddy Power (102), Paul Phelan (95), Frank Lenehan (85), Eddie Peterson (82), James Pringle (78) and Christopher Evans (68).
In the novice championship Joanna Lenehan on 20 points leads Mike Mulcahy (13), Simon Echlin (12), Robert Beamish and Vincent Fagan (9 each).
There are two more rounds this weekend, the MG Car Club event at Mondello Park tomorrow and Carlow Car Club's Sunday event at Wynne's of Moone, near Castledermot.
Birr and District Auto Club report an entry of over 70 for Sunday's Grants Hotel Forestry Rally, which is a round of the RIAC National Forestry Championship. After two rounds, Dermot Kelly leads on 29 points from Noel Driver (25), Philip Shaw (20), Niall Driver (18), Kenny McKinstry and John O'Connor (15 each).
Entries for Sunday's event, run out of Roscrea, are headed by Dermot Kelly, Noel Driver and Dominic McNeill in Ford Escort RS Cosworths. The forestry stages will be un in the Templemore-Camross area.
The World Rally Championship goes down to the wire in the final round, the RAC Rally in Britain on November 21st to 24th.
Finn Tommi Makinen on 58 points leads Carlos Sainz (Spain) by just two points, both with double championship titles and former champion Colin McRae is third on 45 points, ahead of Didier Auriol (34) and Juha Kankkunen (33).
Positions in the manufacturers championship are: 1, Toyota 85 points; 2, Mitsubishi 81; 3, Subaru 65; 4, Ford 43.
Loughshinny MCC, organisers of the Skerries and Killalane road races, hold their a.g.m. in the Yacht Bar, Loughshinny, north Co Dublin on December 8th (8 p.m.). Tonight there will be an auction and dance function in Murray's of Lusk in aid of popular English rider Bob Jackson who was seriously injured in the midAntrim 150 road races in August. Jackson was a great supporter of Irish road races.
