Dungarvan's Ann Maher had a notable double over the summer months. Back in June she was victorious in the lady captain's prize, but recently she added Tom Coffey's president's prize to her collection.
Playing off a handicap of 23 she shot an impressive 41 points to be four points clear of second-placed Peggy O'Brien (17), with Breda O'Sullivan (32) back in third spot a further point adrift. Taking the gross prize was six handicapper Irene Howell.
For somebody who has been playing golf for one year, Maher must be pinching herself. Apart from her double victory of lady captain's and president's prize wins, she has managed to reduce her handicap dramatically.
She started off the season playing off 43, but following all her successes on the course she is now playing off 20.
Seven handicapper Mark Fleming, meanwhile, won the tightly-contested president's prize, pipping Pierce Moloney (9) after both had finished on 76 points. The gross prize went to three-handicapper Donal Williams with 63 points.
