George Faulkner of the Aer Lingus Bar Control golf society is having a year to remember. He won the society's matchplay and is currently topping the leaderboard in the race for the Golfer of the Year title. And to further stamp his claim on the title, Faulkner had a hole in one at their recent outing to Balcarrick when he holed out his tee shot at the par three 12th.

Faulkner's playing partner dispensed with the usual drinks - to celebrate the feat George Eyers presented the other George with a bag of potatoes. They were, of course, Golden Wonders.
