Tuesday
NETWORK TWO, BBC1 (8.0) - Live Football: Liverpool v Celtic (UEFA Cup, first round, second leg). Defeat could mean the season's over for Liverpool, in September. Rangers' fans would argue the season was over before it started for Celtic.
EUROSPORT (8.0) - Live Football: Atletico Bilbao v Sampdoria (UEFA Cup, first round, second leg). Followed by highlights of Liverpool v Celtic
Wednesday
NETWORK TWO (7.0) - The Soccer Show. The first in the series, shown a fortnight ago, had that IDA promotional-video feel about it, ie. it was a bit dull. Shelbourne groundsman Peter McDonnell livened it up a little, though, by revealing why the team's wingers have a distinct advantage over their opponents at Tolka Park. "There are certain parts of the pitch where the ball will hop in instead of out. Our wingers know where that happens because I showed them. You know the ball coming out of the air? By right, it should hop out and over the wall, but we have it so that the ball will hop back in again and the Shelbourne players know all this. That's why we're such a good club," he said. It brings a whole new meaning to that line, `beaten by the bounce of the ball'.
NETWORK TWO, UTV (7.30) - Live Football: Manchester United v Juventus (Champions League). Network Two are showing highlights of Newcastle's match away to Dynamo Kiev after Juventus's hiding at Old Trafford. Kevin Keegan is scheduled to do the co-commentary with Brian Moore on ITV, but he may be too embarrassed to show up after accepting the Fulham job. Highlights of the rest of the night's Champions League matches at 11.40 on UTV and a full showing of Newcastle's match at 2.25 in the morning. BBC2 (9.50) - The Rugby Club: Money, Money, Money. The first in a new six-part `fly-on-the-wall' series gives a behind-the-scenes look at Bath as the club embarked on its first year of professionalism last season. We're promised clips of props and hookers dealing with image consultants - worth watching for that alone.

NETWORK TWO (6.05) - The Grip. This week's show follows the progress of the first Irish team to qualify for the European junior men's basketball championships.
NETWORK TWO (8.30) - Sideline View. Follows the All-Ireland football winners home and previews the hurling League decider between Limerick and Galway.
Saturday
Network Two (3.0) - Live Football: Derry City v Bohemians (National League). From the Brandywell, the meeting of last season's champions and runners-up is the first of at least six live National League games RTE will cover this season. SKY SPORTS 1 (9.0) - Live Boxing: Lennox Lewis v Andrew Golota (WBC heavyweight title fight). Live from Atlantic City.
BBC1 (9.0) - Film: The Fix. Based on the 1960's match-fixing scandal, when ten footballers were jailed and banned for life by the FA.
Sunday
BBC2 (1.15) - Horse Racing from Longchamp. Featuring the l'Arc de Triomphe at 3.20.
