Outhalf Stephen Pinkster calmly slotted an injury-time penalty to make Old Belvedere the Kitty O'Shea Leinster champions for the first time against last year's winners at Donnybrook last night.
It was try for try early on, with Belvedere's left wing, Dave Keogh, and Terenure's Peter O'Malley going over in the 10th and 16th minutes respectively. Then, Anthony Ronan and Brendan Kavanagh scored to leave it 12-12, until Terenure's Shane Cullen shot a 37thminute penalty to give his side a 15-12 lead at the break. Conor Devine's 52ndminute try and Pinkster's dropped goal restored Belvedere's advantage, until two Cullen penalties appeared to tip the balance back in Terenure's favour.
