Luis Suarez is in line for his first European away appearance for Liverpool tomorrow having given Brendan Rodgers the chance to strengthen his attack against Udinese.

Liverpool must win their final Europa League group game to guarantee a place in the knock-out phase and their prospects have been inadvertently assisted by Suarez’s yellow card in Saturday’s 1-0 defeat of Southampton.

Victory over the Italians, who are bottom of Group A and out of the competition, would secure Liverpool’s place in the last 32.

Suarez misses the league trip to West Ham on Sunday after his fifth booking of the season and, though it leaves Rodgers without a senior striker at Upton Park, it has allowed the Liverpool manager to include the forward for Italy.

The 25-year-old Uruguayan has made five appearances in the Europa League this season but all have come at Anfield.

Rodgers confirmed: “The suspension means he will more than likely start now against Udinese. We will be strong when we get over there.”

The striker is expected to be accompanied by Steven Gerrard, with the captain anxious to be involved in the tie.
